Australia’s biggest job board and one of its fastest-growing HR tech platforms are in court – and employers are caught in the middle.
Seek had planned to cut off Employment Hero’s job ad integration from 25th August, which would have forced thousands of businesses to post directly on Seek instead of through their HR platform, but the Federal Court has stepped in, ordering Seek to keep the link open until the case is resolved. For now, this means:
- You can still post to Seek through Employment Hero.
- No immediate change to your ad process.
Why it matters:
- Future disruption: If Seek eventually wins, the integration may be cut, changing admin processes.
- Cost & efficiency: Without integration, posting could become slower and possibly more expensive.
- Data & control: Both companies are contesting who “owns” the candidate relationship – and that could affect visibility and applicant flow.
- Platform choice: The case may also set a precedent on whether big platforms can limit integrations with others.
Bottom line: Nothing changes today – but the outcome could shape how employers advertise and recruit in the future. Watch for more as the case unfolds.
